Queen Takes Book Subscriptions are our latest effort to match everyone with the perfect book! We have four options: 3 subscriptions personally curated by staff and 1 subscription that can be curated specifically for YOU! Subscriptions must be purchased by the last Monday of the month to receive the next month's book. (Purchase by the last Monday in April and you'll receive a May book.) Subscriptions will be ready for pick up on the second Wednesday of the month. For now, these book subscriptions are only available for in-store pick-up, but shipping options will be announced soon!

I read realistic fiction across multiple subgenres, but most prominently literary fiction, contemporary fiction, and literary thrillers.  Recently, I’ve enjoyed: Mothers and Sons by Adam Haslet and The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden and I’m thoroughly immersed in Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche at the moment.  I look for well-developed and interesting characters over plot, though the perfect book for me is a mix of both.  A standout read for me is also one that has lasting power – a book that sneaks up on me, lingers in my mind after I’ve finished the last page, and encourages me to think differently or from a new perspective.  I enjoy trying new-to-me authors and debuts too, loving the sense of discovery it brings (or perhaps it’s my FOMO, hard to say). Common themes in my reading include quiet tension, unlikely friendships, and dysfunctional families.
