Queen Takes Book Subscriptions are our latest effort to match everyone with the perfect book! We have four options: 3 subscriptions personally curated by staff and 1 subscription that can be curated specifically for YOU! Subscriptions must be purchased by the last Monday of the month to receive the next month's book. (Purchase by the last Monday in April and you'll receive a May book.) Subscriptions will be ready for pick up on the second Wednesday of the month. For now, these book subscriptions are only available for in-store pick-up, but shipping options will be announced soon!

My reading life leans into immersive world-building, high-concept sci-fi, and the tangled undercurrents of power - whether that's on a distant planet or in the back rooms of political history. I’m drawn to stories that ask, “what if?” and then go deep into the consequences, whether through the physics of hard science fiction, the intensity of military or spy thrillers, or the sweep of historical epics.
 
Recent favorites include Cascade Failure and Gravity Lost by L.M. Sagas (gritty, character-driven space opera), The Silo Series by Hugh Howey (claustrophobic, thought-provoking dystopia), and The Demon of Unrest by Erik Larson (an electrifying dive into the lead-up to the Civil War). I also devoured Galaxy Raiders: Abyss by Ian Douglas - sometimes I just want something fast, pulpy, and fun.
 
The books I love most combine big ideas with a strong sense of place, whether that’s a collapsing future, a reimagined past, or something in between. Expect compelling political dynamics, smart protagonists, ambitious narratives, and the occasional gut-punch of a twist. If it’s epic, speculative, and makes me want to do a deep-dive Wikipedia spiral afterward - I’m in.
